This cute little café, hidden in the suburban streets of Camp Hill, is a charming, kid-friendly choice for anyone searching for an affordable breakfast and a good quality coffee.
I popped into local café, Carte Blanche, for a lazy Sunday brunch the other weekend and was really surprised. The café, previously a rather shadowy bicycle store and café, has been transformed into an airy, welcoming café.
Carte Blanche’s small kitchen, centred in the café, provides quite a decent breakfast menu compared to other suburban cafes I’ve visited recently (who offer little variety with high price tags). This was a nice (budget-friendly) surprise.
A great balance between cheap meals, hipster serving boards and kid-friendly.
All menu items are less than $15 and cover the usual breakfast suspects; muesli, bacon, eggs, toast. And Carte Blanche offer uber trendy breakfast item of the moment – a super food smoothie served in a jar. Theirs is the “Super Food Jar” made from everyone’s favourite super foods; acia, chia, coconut milk, quinoa and more.
Carte Blanche provide stools at the front of the café for coffee addicts, who will love the Bellissimo coffee, and have room behind the kitchen for bigger groups, allowing brunchers with kids to read books and practise their mad colouring-in skills.
Carte Blanche is worth a visit.
